Pet Care Day Camp Attendant
About The Position
Kennelwood Pet Resorts is seeking a Dog Day Camp Counselor to join its growing pet care business. This role requires confidence in handling canine energy, gained through training, experience, and a natural affinity for working with dogs. The counselor is responsible for ensuring pets engage in breed-appropriate and size-specific activities, maintaining order in playgroups, and meticulously ensuring all animal guests receive their scheduled Day Camp activities. Kennelwood Pet Resorts, established in 1974, is an industry leader, having pioneered services like Shed-X and Doggie DayCamp. The company continues to offer a range of services including training, grooming, dog daycamp, and boarding across its eight pet resort locations and Kennelwood Academy for Dog Training Professionals. Kennelwood's philosophy centers on creating experiences that build trust and confidence, inviting team members to contribute to the lives of pets in their care.
Requirements
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift at least 40 lbs on a regular basis and up to 50 lbs on occasion
- Ability to walk dogs of all sizes on leashes
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes
- Comfortable working around pet hair and dander
- A passion for animals
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- No experience necessary!
Responsibilities
- Provide dogs in camp with exercise and enrichment
- Supervise group play sessions
- Maintain a clean camp yard and clean up after dogs
- Greet pet parents upon drop off and pick up
- Walk dogs for placement in correct activity
- May be cross-trained in other departments
