About The Position

Pesticide Applicator (Full-Time) Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 365-entertainment destination for world-class events located in Austin, TX. The sports and entertainment portfolio at COTA is unmatched in the country with Formula 1 US Grand Prix, NASCAR and MotoGP attracting global fans during championship races on the famed Circuit and Live Nation producing over 30 headline concerts every year at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater. Opening in 2026, COTA’s amusement park, COTALAND, is on over 30-acres featuring two first of their kind Roller Coasters and 30 rides. Job Description: The Pesticide Applicator is a full-time position reporting to the Landscape & Grounds Manager. This role is responsible for maintaining landscape areas using Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices, ensuring high-quality standards and a safe work environment in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • TDA Pesticide Applicator License.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in chemical application within landscaping, lawn services, or a related field.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays during events and peak periods.
  • Ability to bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, and twist throughout the day.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate trucks, UTVs, equipment, and tools.
  • Strong knowledge of turf and ornamental plants specifically plant and pest identification.
  • Responsible, with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Ability to calibrate spray and rotary equipment.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
  • Punctual, detail-oriented, and efficient.
  • High organizational skills and accurate record keeping.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
  • Relevant degrees, licenses, or certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Identify plant issues including insects, diseases, and damage, and implement effective treatments.
  • Apply fertilizers, insecticides, herbicides, and fungicides using a variety of application equipment.
  • Assist managers in developing and executing short- and long-term application plans.
  • Maintain accurate daily spray records and monitor chemical inventory.
  • Read, understand, and remain current with product labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Ensure chemical storage and mixing areas comply with all applicable regulations.
  • Follow all safety protocols when loading, mixing, and applying products.
  • Support managers in training and developing crew members.
  • Adjust work priorities to accommodate on-property events.
  • Ensure proper use, care, and accountability of assigned equipment.
  • Attend meetings as directed.
  • Report equipment issues and project updates, and supply needs to management
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
