Requirements

  • 1 year of professional or non-professional Human Resources experience
  • Knowledge of computer software including applications (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Knowledge of the Agencies and Department of Management Services Personnel rules, policies, and procedures
  • Knowledge of People First
  • Knowledge of methods of research tools, personal computers, data collection and analysis
  • Skilled in business professional written and verbal communication
  • Skilled in research techniques, analysis, and operating personal computers
  • Skilled in time management
  • Skilled in learning strategies using multiple approaches when learning
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques and make independent decisions
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to compose correspondence
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of Recruitment and Staffing experience
  • 1 year of experience working for a State of Florida Human Resources Office
  • Experience working in the People First system
  • Knowledge of Department of Management Services Personnel rules, policies, and procedures as it pertains to recruitment and selection
  • Use of Human Resources Information Systems - for example: Footprints, DASH
  • Experience with completing appointment action packets, request for personnel action (RPA) forms, or separation packets

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and processes requests for Appointment Actions (Original, Reassignment, Promotion, Lateral and/or Demotion); Payroll actions related to pay changes (pay additives, etc.); and miscellaneous actions.
  • Entering approved actions into the People First system by completing a Personnel Action Request (PAR).
  • Conducts research and analysis regarding the aforementioned appointment and pay actions to provide customer service and assistance to the Department supervisors and managers.
  • Documents all calls, requests and any required action into the appropriate information system/tracking database.
  • Monitors/tracks ticketed items/actions in system(s) database(s) as required.
  • Prepares and disseminates correspondence regarding Recruitment and Staffing matters.
  • Creates and updates Excel, Word, and People First systems, spreadsheets, logs, processes, and documents.
  • Assists with special projects with responsibility for providing input for developing solutions to human resource issues or concerns.
  • Communicates the Departments concerns and expected results to project teams engaged in researching issues.
  • Provides guidance/consultation to managers, supervisors, human resources liaisons and applicants.
  • Interprets policies, procedures, rules and statutes and the ability to apply those interpretations when performing the duties of the position on a daily basis.
  • Perform all job tasks in accordance with laws, rules, regulations, policies, and requirements applicable to state and federal laws or procedures.
