We are looking to hire a Personnel Security Specialist to join our team in Herndon, Va. This position reports to the Facility Security Officer.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Minimum of one (1) year of personnel security experience.
  • Experience reviewing personnel documents, Personnel Security Questionnaires (SF-86), and other records to ensure they are accurate, complete, and in compliance with the client’s guidelines.
  • Experience with DISS, NISS, NBIS, and NCAISS systems-of-record.
  • Sound judgment and possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with project teams, consultants, clients, and government representatives.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and exhibit discretion relating to business and personnel matters.
  • Demonstrate initiative and ability to provide clear guidance to all levels of personnel and implement modifications to operations, policies, or procedures as identified.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and periodic random drug screening

Responsibilities

  • Process and review background investigation requests via the electronic questionnaires (eAPP) system, including preparing, gathering, and reviewing SF-86 forms and other clearance documentation for applicants, employees, and contractors to determine their suitability for access.
  • Draft letters and requests to federal agencies for investigative information.
  • Establish and maintain a working relationship with DCSA and other US government security officials.
  • Utilize DISS to submit clearance actions, monitor investigation statuses, and manage personnel security records.
  • Assist in the preparation for and completion of annual inspections to ensure government compliance.
  • Provide guidance and instruction to employees to ensure proper adherence to federal security programs.
  • Assist with coordinating and conducting security training and briefings/debriefings.
  • Assist with investigating and reporting security violations and incident reports.
  • Assist with maintenance and management of building access control systems.
  • Aid in the development and implementation of security policy, standards, and guidelines.
  • Support Facility Security Officer (FSO) in managing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s compliance with the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and other security activities.
