About The Position

The internship position is designed to provide hands-on experience in personal training under the guidance of experienced personal trainers. Interns will assist in creating a positive and safe training environment for all members, while also gaining exposure to various training experiences including small group training, medical exercise, and specialized training for conditions such as Parkinson's Disease and youth training. The role involves educating members on fitness fundamentals and inspiring healthy lifestyles in a fun and engaging environment.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in physical education, exercise science, corporate fitness, or a related field of study preferred.
• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience working in the fitness industry is preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gain experience in personal training under the guidance of experienced trainers.
• Provide a positive and safe training environment for all members.
• Assist in administering health and fitness assessments for personal training clients.
• Observe personal training sessions with a certified personal trainer.
• Demonstrate or explain how to perform various exercises and movements to minimize injuries and improve fitness.
• Conduct health and fitness assessments for clients.
• Assist clients in every way possible and take pride in their progress.
• Complete objectives included in the Family Wellness internship manual.
• Complete daily cleaning duties as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
