About The Position

Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation is an accredited, gold medal award-winning agency with over 45 full-time professionals and over 300 seasonal and part-time staff who provide the Lee's Summit community with dozens of quality recreational opportunities. EOE Employment at LSPR guarantees the opportunity to learn communication and organizational skills, professionalism, and civic responsibility while building outstanding personal and work relationships. $28.70/hourly The Personal Trainer conducts high quality one-on-one or small group sessions with patrons to help achieve individual goals, while emphasizing patron service in an effort to promote and retain quality programs. Job Scope: No supervisory or budgetary responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Current National Personal Training Certifications, such as ASC, ACSM, ACE, etc. required
  • Must perform and pass successful demonstration of skills to Recreation Supervisor
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to communicate with patrons professionally and respectfully.
  • Skills in organizing, planning and preparing materials and evaluating goals and objectives.
  • Ability to analyze community needs, problem solve and implement solutions, and relate to the needs of all age groups.
  • Ability to establish good working relationship with public, subordinates and supervisors.
  • Ability to maintain self-control and composure and set a professional example for the staff and participants.
  • Ability to understand, analyze and implement ideas and concepts.
  • Skills in communications and providing exceptional patron service.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic First Aid and CPR/AED preferred within three (3) months of date of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts personal training sessions with patrons in accordance with accepted standards and practices.
  • Evaluates sessions through direct contact with patrons as well as written surveys.
  • Maintains up to date, accurate records of attendance
  • Assists in maintaining cleanliness of fitness area.
  • Ensures proper use of equipment by patrons, enforces fitness area rules and regulations and maintains safe environment for patron use.
  • Completes incident/accident reports promptly and completely and immediately reports any incidents, injuries, or accidents to management.
  • Notifies management staff of needed repairs.
  • Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings.
  • Ensures enforcement of rules and regulations of LSPR.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
