About The Position

Clay County Missouri has an opening at our annex in Kansas City, MO for a Personal Property Technician. The Personal Property Technician, following Missouri state statutes and established appraisal techniques, will converse with taxpayers in person or by telephone to create/edit/change/delete existing records, apply tax entity codes, examine and verify taxpayers’ forms and related documents, and apply penalties. We are looking for someone proficient in MS Office applications, flexibility to adjust to procedural changes as they occur, mathematically inclined, and can communicate clearly and concisely.

Requirements

• Proficient in MS Office applications
• Flexibility to adjust to procedural changes as they occur
• Mathematically inclined
• Communicate clearly and concisely
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including basic Excel report formatting
• Legally licensed and insured to drive a motor vehicle

Responsibilities

• Converse with taxpayers in person or by telephone
• Create/edit/change/delete existing records
• Apply tax entity codes
• Examine and verify taxpayers’ forms and related documents
• Apply penalties
