About The Position

The Personal Lines Insurance Consultant serves as a licensed insurance agent for the Members’ Insurance Center. This individual provides consulting services to Suncoast Credit Union members to recommend insurance products and adequate coverage. An ideal candidate upholds the highest level of business ethics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field (A comparable combination of work experience and training may be substituted for education requirements)
  • 2+ years of sales experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance Industry
  • Florida 20-44 Property & Casualty Personal Lines Agent License required and continuing education requirements must be maintained
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities to meet deadlines
  • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators
  • Ability to comprehensively communicate facts, policies, and practices
  • Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized with task management

Responsibilities

  • Quote and write new policies for business personal lines
  • Meet or exceed individual sales goals established by management
  • Assist members with new insurance policy applications
  • Correspond with insurance companies and insured individuals regarding billing, endorsements, and claims for new or existing policies
  • Assist the agency by looking for opportunities to cross-sell
  • Maintain individual book of business within the Agency Management System, regularly updating notes to include every contact
  • Interpret policy language to insured individuals and lenders
  • Manage the Agency Management System database
  • Print, file, and image company download documents
  • Maintain agency & insurance company manuals
  • Implement the agency’s policy, procedure, and underwriting guidelines to minimize errors and omissions
  • Ensure the confidentiality of all information or transactions between the credit union, agency, members, and employees
  • Implement underwriting guidelines and procedural changes
  • Attend training classes to increase professional knowledge
