About The Position

Beloit Health System has immediate opportunities for Personal Care Attendants/Certified Nursing Assistants to join NorthPointe Terrace. In these positions, the Personal Care Attendants/Certified Nursing Assistants will assist residents who are functionally, physically, and/or socially impaired and need assistance with supportive, nursing, and personal care. The Personal Care Attendant/Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for assisting tenants with activities of daily living that they are unable to perform without help, fostering at all times residents' independence and freedom of choice. All responsibilities will be conducted in a manner consistent with the philosophy of Beloit Memorial Hospital's and NorthPointe Terrace's mission, vision, and values. The role assures the provision of high-quality services needed and/or desired by tenants and their families, and maintains ongoing compliance with appropriate local, state, federal, regulatory, and/or accrediting body standards. The attendant strives to attain excellence in consumer satisfaction through the provision of quality services in an environment of professionalism and compassion, and maintains a high level of involvement/participation in all tenant activities, providing ongoing feedback/suggestions regarding the activity program to the Activity Coordinator and Director.

Requirements

  • Completion of accredited CNA program
  • Current IL CNA certification
  • Valid driver's license
  • CPR Certification within 3 months
  • Complete the required medication training course
  • Ability to hear and distinguish normal sounds with background noises ranging from normal conversational levels to highpitched sounding alarms
  • Must be able to give and receive verbal instructions, hear audible emergency signals, alarms, call light indicators, and be able to answer the phone

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents who are functionally, physically, and or socially impaired and need assistance with supportive, nursing, and personal care
  • Assist tenants with those activities of daily living that they are unable to perform without help, fostering at all times residents' independence and freedom of choice
  • Assure the provision of high-quality services needed and/or desired by tenants and their families
  • Attain and/or maintain ongoing compliance with appropriate local, state, federal, regulatory, and/or accrediting body standards
  • Strive to attain excellence in consumer satisfaction through provision of quality services in an environment of professionalism and compassion
  • Maintain high level of involvement/participation in all tenant activities
  • Provide Activity Coordinator and Director with ongoing feedback/suggestions regarding the activity program
  • Assist residents to self-administer medications under supervision of Registered Nurse and after completion of approved medication course
  • Provide assistance with activities of daily living for tenants including but not limited to: dressing, bathing, personal hygiene (shaving, oral hygiene, nail care, foot care, hair care), mobility assistance (cane, walker, wheelchair, and crutch use) including monitoring of safe transfer and ambulation techniques, use and care of ADL devices (including eyeglasses, contact lenses, hearing aids)
  • Provide assistance with instrumental activities of daily living for tenants including but not limited to: telephone use, housekeeping tasks (vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning bathrooms, bedmaking, linen changes), laundry, light maintenance, transportation, mail delivery, and personal correspondence
  • Conduct room checks and tenant rounds/checks and monitor for environmental and safety hazards
  • Record incidents, errors, and accidents
  • Report such occurrences to Director within 1 hour
  • Escort tenants to dining room, set up and clean tables, serve meals, eat meals with tenants during mealtimes
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality at all times
  • Work collaboratively with peers and all team members
  • Follow up promptly and thoroughly with appropriate staff, tenants, or other individuals regarding reported complaints, problems, and concerns
  • Adhere to established hospital and NorthPointe Terrace policies, rules, and regulations
