About The Position

Triangle is seeking dependable individuals dedicated to supporting youth with disabilities in achieving their leadership potential in the Boston and Worcester areas. The ideal candidates will assist youth by providing personal care and necessary accommodations to ensure their participation in EPIC programming, along with supporting staff in executing programming. Employees are expected to adhere to Triangle policy and procedures, foster a positive, solution-oriented culture consistent with Triangle's mission, and promote employment, self-advocacy, and independence across programs and participants. The role requires acting as a role model, maintaining a positive and respectful attitude towards participants, staff, and community partners, communicating regularly with the supervisor, demonstrating flexible and efficient time management, and consistently reporting to work on time with a willingness to flex hours as needed.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in human services, which includes experience working with people with disabilities
  • Experience assisting people with disabilities with their personal care
  • Ability to physically assist with transfers when necessary
  • Valid driver's license or dependable transportation

Responsibilities

  • Assist EPIC youth with personal care routines as needed (toileting, eating, etc.)
  • Support youth by providing needed accommodations to ensure their participation in EPIC programming
  • Work with EPIC staff to assist in preparing for programming to make sure the needs of all of EPIC's young leaders are being met
  • Supervise youth during workshops, volunteer opportunities, and recreational activities
  • Represents Triangle and EPIC to family members, community organizations, and partners
  • Provide Program Participants with instruction in performing community service projects and other programming
  • Ensure that all personal care assistance provided to EPIC youth fits into EPIC's self-advocacy model by ensuring that all assistance is youth-led
  • Maintain proper care, use, inventory, and storage of supplies and equipment
  • Assist in curriculum and program execution
  • Participate in all required training
  • Intervene in minor behavioral issues
  • Participate in team meetings
  • Assist in reaching programmatic goals set by the EPIC Executive Director
  • Other duties as assigned
