About The Position

OFFERING PAID CREDENTIALS - Eliminating upfront costs for necessary clearances & TB screening! PCAs placed on assignment in Downingtown Area School District (DASD) will start at $23 per hour and progress to $27.50 per hour (w2 employment). SCHEDULE: PCAs will work on all student days following DASD academic calendar year. The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) position is a field employee position working in a school setting to provide one-to-one and small group support to students with special needs. Requirements

  • High School Diploma OR equivalency
  • Complete both PCA and BHT training plans; paid and provided by CCRES
  • PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
  • PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
  • PA Department of Education FBI
  • PA Department of Human Services FBI
  • TB Screening (current within 3 months)
  • Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with school aged children - preferred
  • Experience with autism and / or other special needs - preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored one-on-one and small group support to students with disabilities, helping them participate in classroom activities, manage behavioral interventions, manage personal care, and access to educational environment as it aligns with the student's Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).
  • Implement timely interventions focusing on behavior management, conflict resolution, anger management, and enhancing peer interaction skills, according to the goals outlined in the IEP or positive behavioral support plan set by Special Education team.
  • Gather daily data and maintain progress notes in the designated format for each session with the child or adolescent.
  • Daily progress notes will be entered into STaR and/or Clinic Tracker system based on student's medical billing source.
  • Offer direct assistance to students to fulfill their academic, social, emotional, and/or personal care requirements.
