About The Position

This is a full-time position responsible for the management and operations of the Personal Assistant (PA) Department. This is a position with growing responsibilities as State regulations and expectations evolve and as Orange Grove Center expands service delivery options for people. The Coordinator is responsible to manage and monitor the budgetary outcomes, goals, and success of the services offered by the PA program. This includes reporting outcomes monthly to the Chief Operating Officer, Director of Adult Services, Board of Directors, and any other entities deemed appropriate. Coordinator must ensure all necessary paperwork is completed to ensure compliance with Orange Grove policies, DDA, and all State and Federal oversight bodies. Responsibilities include ensuring all employees are current with required staff training, participating in meetings on behalf of Orange Grove, participating in relevant services and training courses, facilitating staff meetings, and ensuring quality documentation of all services and activities relating to services. Completion and over-sight to departmental reports include time sheets, daily progress notes, billing calendars, monthly summaries, monthly reviews, health passports,SIS Assessments, Risk Assessments, vehicle inspection reports, home visit reports, and Therap Reports/ Timesheets. This person must become trained on Therap and Paycom Systems. They will need to be willing to learn and understand the databases mandated by the state and Orange Grove. This person must supervise staff effectively and handle a wide range of responsibilities, demonstrating quality organizational skills, consistency, and flexibility. The Coordinator will hire, discipline, and discharge staff as necessary and will coordinate these activities with the Human Resource department and the Director of Adult Services. This person will communicate openly and effectively with PAs, family members, ISCs, Case Managers, management, staff from all Orange Grove departments, medical providers; community partners, and all stakeholders, The Coordinator must fill-in for all departmental positions as needed. This includes working hours outside of the typical Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Foremost, this position must demonstrate positive leadership abilities in all situations, must demonstrate a willingness to do whatever is required for the success of the program; and must up hold the policies and procedures of Orange Grove Center.

Requirements

  • Experience in management and coordinating programs required.
  • Must possess an understanding of the importance of individuals with disabilities being active participants within their communities.
  • Excellent people skills and problem solving techniques when dealing with staff; individuals served, families, support teams, funding and oversight entities, and community business partners.
  • Must be capable of working within the guidelines of the Department of Disability and Aging and all other applicable governing and/or funding sources.
  • Coordinator must possess a valid driver's license with an F endorsement; a dependable vehicle, and maintain liability automobile insurance.
  • Good overall physical health and personal stamina.
  • Physical examination, including TB skin test or chest x-ray is required prior to employment.
  • Must assist in transfers and lifting when working with individuals in a training or caregiver role.
