About The Position

Tower Engineering Professionals (TEP) is seeking a full-time Permitting Specialist in Charlotte, N.C. As a Permitting Specialist, you will serve as an integral member of our Site Acquisition and Permitting Division. Job Description: Permitting Specialist facilitates the submittal of permit applications and required documentation to obtain zoning, building, and electrical permit approvals from local jurisdictions for wireless projects.

Requirements

• Teachable spirit and a positive, team player attitude
• Ability to timely analyze and solve problems with little intervention
• Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills
• Strong experience with Microsoft Office Products (Excel & Word mainly)
• Effectively communicate with Project & Division Managers on a regular basis
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings or the willingness and ability to learn

Responsibilities

• Complete permit applications and submittal packages
• Contact local jurisdictions to determine permitting and submittal requirements
• Track tasks in a Salesforce project tracker and spreadsheets
• Provide regular updates to project manager and attend regular update calls/meetings as required
• Navigate file systems and project folders to locate documents needed for permit submittals
• Creating deliverable memos to upload to client systems
• Work with internal or external engineering firms to request changes to engineering documents pertinent to the permitting process
• Handle emails as quickly and effectively as possible
