About The Position

The Permit Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating effective communication and coordination between City officials, engineers, contractors, and management to minimize negative and unexpected impacts during the construction permitting process. Additionally, the Permit Coordinator will support the Construction Team and assists them by providing updates to relevant stakeholders on project milestones including but not limited to filings, approvals, permits, letter of completion, occupancy, and other municipality updates on a local and national scale.

Requirements

  • The Permit Coordinator should have an Associate’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and effectively solve problems in a timely and organized manner along with the ability to track, prioritize, and complete multiple projects simultaneously without missing a beat.
  • Results-oriented and self-motivated; enjoys finding solutions to complex problems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy of records
  • High Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of project management experience
  • FTTH or similar design or construction experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Smart sheet, or other project management software products a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a single point of contact on projects.
  • Establishes tools, resources, and processes for project management.
  • Fosters a culture of teamwork within the permitting team and with other departments
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients and respective jurisdictions.
  • Working experience or substantial knowledge of permit application procedures, submittal requirements, and associated documents.
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively prioritize a high volume of work and handle multiple tasks with changing priorities while meeting deadlines and team goals.
  • Develop permit strategy and supporting project plans.
  • Prepares municipality applications for submission of filing, permits, objections, variances, etc.
  • Verify all permit packages have the required documents and are properly completed (submittal through construction and closure).
  • Coordinate city permit reviews to help ensure permits are issued in an expeditious manner.
  • Reviews all new projects and gathers all necessary information required for the production of forms or electronic submissions.
  • Continuously improve standard methodologies, best practices, etc. to ensure the best possible deliverable outcome to improve overall efficiency
