About The Position

A production level position that is responsible for the preparation of site investigation reports and carrying out the permitting procedures. Requirements: A Permitting Coordinator must have one (1) year’s customer service experience. This position requires superior communication, both written and verbal are necessary. Knowledge of basic site development procedures, basic understanding of construction plans, mathematical skills and map reading are essential. Must have a valid driver's license. Responsibilities/Skills: Prepare due diligence reports and coordinate supplemental documents necessary for permitting with minimal direction. Must be available for travel to prospective sites for investigation and permitting purposes. Communicate the importance of various issues identified during the site investigation along with the ability to understand and communicate the implications for the project. Understand the importance of time and sense of urgency to the client for all aspects of development. Understand the basic code requirement impacts on the project (both architectural and engineering). Forward thinking on issues that may arise causing delays in the permitting or construction process. Effective communication with all parties involved in the project (in-house, outside consultants and clients). Identify the ramifications of building codes that will impact projects. Coordinate and prepare documents for submittal on all aspects needed to obtain approval for permits (i.e., addressing, water/wastewater agreements, civil engineering permits, architectural/engineering permits). Prepare comments/response letters for resubmittals and coordinate the responses with the architectural/civil design team. Effectively interpret municipality comments regarding submitted plans. Assist as directed in all other permitting related activities for which the department is responsible. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, able to drive long distances and work long hours as required.
