As a Permit Specialist, you'll serve as the vital link between our engineering teams and local government agencies. You'll help ensure that electric distribution design projects for our client, ComEd, move forward smoothly by securing the necessary permits and maintaining clear communication throughout the process. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to stay organized and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil drawings.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with permit applications and local government agencies.
  • AutoCAD experience.
  • Familiarity with roadway projects.
  • Experience in administrative or clerical roles.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit permit applications in accordance with city, county, and state regulations.
  • Gather and organize required documentation such as engineering plans, legal descriptions, and tax information.
  • Communicate with permitting agencies to track application progress and resolve issues.
  • Keep internal teams and clients informed of permit status and timelines.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all permit-related activities.
  • Review and interpret civil drawings to ensure compliance with permitting requirements.
  • Support other administrative tasks and team needs as assigned.
  • Occasional travel to our Chicago office and project sites in the greater Chicago area.
