Byers Engineering, a MasTec company, is seeking a full-time Permit Manager in support of a large-scale Telecommunications project. A Permit Manager serves as an integral member of the engineering team and will contribute to the success of our initiatives by permitting, overseeing the permit process and obtaining appropriate approvals. Requires knowledge of municipal processes, codes and ordinances, as well as frequent interface with local governments and jurisdictions. Must have good organization, professional communication, time management and relationship building skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: QA Permit Drawings before Permit Specialists to ensure accuracy. Constant open communication with Permit Creation staff. Manage permit coordinators. Close monitoring of daily activities, work schedules and submittals of specialists. Ensure that all applicable trackers are kept up to date (Internal & Client), tracking submittals, communication/feedback, rejections/redlines and approvals. Conduct Jurisdictional review. Ability to effectively communicate and interact with the city, county, and state municipalities relating to permitting and develop relationships with various permitting agencies. Understand permitting code and policy. Develop best practices and process improvement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and completed courses from technical school or community college preferred, but not required
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Qualify on pre-employment screening
  • Willing to be trained and adapt to changing industry trends- continue education for Engineering design and best practices

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of Telecom, Fiber, and Outside Plant required
  • Experience with Florida Jurisdictions required
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent communication for daily interaction with various teams
