About The Position

CPH is a multi-disciplinary Engineering and Architecture firm that ranks in the nation’s Top 500 Design Firms by ENR Magazine. We are seeking a Permit Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Sanford, FL! The Permit Coordinator is responsible for managing the full permitting process for CPH projects, including preparing, submitting, tracking, and securing approvals across multiple jurisdictions. This role ensures all projects comply with regulatory requirements, coordinates with agencies and project teams, and maintains accurate records throughout the process. Strong attention to detail, organization, and knowledge of permitting in the architecture, engineering, or construction industries are essential.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of permitting processes, land development, zoning regulations, and environmental compliance.
  • Proficiency in permitting software such as Accela, ePermits, or similar platforms.
  • Detail oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work effectively with government agencies, clients, and internal teams.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to research, interpret, and apply regulatory requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in project coordination, preferably within the AEC industry or professional services environment.
  • Experience with financial tracking, contracts, and multi-disciplinary project coordination.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with land development and environmental impact assessments is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, submit, track, and manage permits for land development, zoning, construction, and environmental approvals.
  • Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure regulatory compliance and timely approvals.
  • Monitor permit requirements, conditions, and expiration dates to maintain compliance with project schedules.
  • Research and interpret applicable zoning codes, land use regulations, and permitting requirements.
  • Ensure permit applications and supporting documentation meet regulatory standards.
  • Evaluate jurisdictional permitting processes, zoning laws, and environmental regulations.
  • Track changes to applicable codes and regulations and communicate impacts to project teams.
  • Analyze regulatory constraints and permitting risks to support project feasibility and planning.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to align permitting strategies with project goals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with regulatory agencies and stakeholders throughout the permitting process.
  • Support public hearings, agency reviews, and permit-related inquiries.
  • Coordinate permit approvals, clearances, and project closeout documentation.
  • Maintain organized permit records for compliance and audit purposes.
  • Provide status updates, schedules, and risk summaries related to permitting activities.
  • Assist in developing and refining internal permitting processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
