About The Position

MDE is a small, women run, maternal care collective based in NYC. We specialize in pregnancy + birth support, postpartum + newborn care, lactation + feeding support, and child care. The Permanent Placement Recruiter is an hourly, W2 remote position, reporting to and supporting the Head of Permanent Placements in MDE's recruitment process for permanent household employee placements for our families. You should be experienced in recruiting (ideally remote) including high volume candidate screenings and interview techniques. Working in nanny placement or childcare adjacent recruitment roles (summer camp, teaching etc) is required for this role. The successful candidate should have a growth mindset aligned with MDE's values and goals and this position has the potential to evolve with additional hours and responsibilities pending job performance and employee interest. In this role your main focus will be maintaining systems for tracking candidates and liaising with all candidates and MDE employees in a professional and timely manner. You will be the point person for all candidates in the full cycle recruitment process, including, but not limited to reviewing resumes, complete screening calls, conduct background and social media checks, reference checks and be responsible for record management for each candidate. You will liaise with the Head of Permanent Placements to produce candidate shortlists and summaries to provide to families. General hours to land between 9-5pm, with consistent daily availability during morning hours (8/9am-11am) with ability to flex some hours depending on our candidate interview availability and your personal schedule (some evening hours are required based on business demands).

Requirements

  • Recruitment experience - nanny placement or childcare/summer camp recruiter
  • Experience with online recruitment software/systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team player mindset
  • Incredibly detail oriented and ability to multitask
  • Self starter who works well efficiently and independently
  • Trustworthy + clear communicator with the ability to work remote
  • Proficient in using Google Drive
  • Articulate writer with strong proof-reading skills
  • Understands MDEs core values and applies them to all aspects of the role
  • Flexibility with schedule to support the team with additional hours as the business demands

Responsibilities

  • Report directly to MDE's Head of Permanent Placements to coordinate full-time and part-time household employee placement recruitment for our MDE families.
  • Review all potential candidates and feel comfortable screening, rejecting and moving candidates through our pipeline and process.
  • Conduct initial candidate interviews (virtually) and create an accurate, timely and descriptive candidate interview summary for each interview conducted
  • Review top prospects with the team for each job posting
  • Schedule all candidate interviews for initial, second and final interviews with members of the team
  • Conduct background/social checks and collect/review appropriate documents for all candidates who move onto the final round.
  • Coordinate final round shortlist for each family, including candidate summary report for each potential candidate.
  • Work seamlessly with the team to ensure coordination for final placement of candidate, liaising with individuals through the full cycle recruitment process
