About The Position

In an environment of continuous quality improvement, t he Perioperative Education Coordinator is responsible for coordinating education and quality improvement services. Exhibits the MHS Standards of Excellence and exercises strict confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with a current Licensure in the State of Ohio as a Registered Nurse.
  • Three years of experience in surgical services required.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit.

Nice To Haves

  • BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates monthly education/validation for staff.
  • Orientation specialist for all OR employees.
  • Ensures that education and quality are maintained and reviewed through the department .
  • Provides/Oversees equipment/product education .
  • Functions as liaison for students and visitors .
  • Assists with survey preparation in conjunction with clinical nurse manager .
  • Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
