About The Position

In an environment of continuous quality improvement, the Perioperative Education Coordinator is responsible for coordinating education and quality improvement services. Exhibits the MHS Standards of Excellence and exercises strict confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with a current Licensure in the State of Ohio as a Registered Nurse.
• Three years of experience in surgical services required.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit.

Nice To Haves

• BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates monthly education/validation for staff.
• Orientation specialist for all OR employees.
• Ensures that education and quality are maintained and reviewed through the department.
• Provides/Oversees equipment/product education.
• Functions as liaison for students and visitors.
• Assists with survey preparation in conjunction with clinical nurse manager.
• Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
