About The Position

As our Perioperative Patient Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting efficient surgical operations by preparing rooms, assisting with patient handling, and ensuring the availability and functionality of equipment and supplies.Every day you will open sterile supplies, assist with patient positioning and transport, operate specialized equipment like Stealth and CUSA, manage specimens, and maintain a clean and orderly environment.To be be successful in this role, you will skillfully manage equipment setup and maintenance, ensure adherence to safety and infection control standards, collaborate effectively with the surgical team, and contribute to overall departmental performance improvement. Check-in with the outgoing patient care techs at the beginning of your shift to get a report on your patients. Conduct hourly rounds on patients, checking vitals, maintaining whiteboard information, and assisting with care as needed. Assist patients with ambulating as necessary. This may mean helping them reach a recliner in their room, walk to the bathroom, or down the hall. Assist released patients in getting safely to their vehicles outside. Assist patients with hygiene needs. This can include a full bed bath, an assisted bed bath, or retrieving towels and soap for ambulatory patients.

Requirements
