Requirements

• RN in the state of Illinois
• Must demonstrate broad and thorough knowledge of the theories, principles and practices in a professional discipline, specialized or occupational field.
• Three to five years of related work experience required, demonstrating a broad knowledge of the job responsibilities and methods.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Teaches educational programs on Perinatal topics including childbirth, breastfeeding, sibling preparation and childhood development
• Utilizes program plans, handouts, appropriate adult learning and teaching techniques to facilitate classes.
• Conducts classes which significantly impact and improve patient care on the unit.
• Utilizes the CQI process to evaluate client satisfaction of classes, and identify further learning needs.
• Updates educational programs with knowledge of current trends and developments in the field.
• Delivers educational support to maternity staff.
• Participates in community education programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned
