About The Position

The Madison Area YMCA is hiring 2026 Performing Arts Camp Counselors for our summer camp program serving school-aged children. Camp Dates: June 22, 2026, through August 27, 2026 As a Performing Arts Camp Counselor, you'll help create a fun, structured, camp experience focused on creativity, self-expression, and teamwork by: Leading age-appropriate performing arts activities such as drama, movement, music, and dance Ensure a safe, positive environment for campers as they learn performance skills and build confidence Helping campers practice, rehearse, and participate in group performances Collaborate with fellow staff to plan activities and showcase camper routines Communicate clearly with campers, families, and coworkers This Job is for You if You: Enjoy working with elementary-aged children Have interest or background in theater, music, dance, or performing arts Can balance creativity with structure and supervision Want to build leadership skills and serve as a positive role model Are patient, dependable, and energetic Are 18 years or older Have a high school diploma or equivalent Have prior experience working with youth (camp, art education, or youth programs preferred)
