The Los Angeles Dodgers currently have a job opportunity for Performance Science Intern. Following you will find a brief description of the job and application process. The Performance Science team uses science and engineering principles to better understand on-field performance through biomechanical data analysis and visualization. This program consists of 80% in-department work, 15% cross-functional project experience, and 5% additional programming. Interns collaborate on real business projects in small cross-functional groups while gaining hands-on, department-specific experience under a dedicated manager. The program is 100% in-person/onsite. This is a non-renewable internship and will conclude at the end of the scheduled 12-week program.

  • Operating, processing, and analyzing biomechanics and other tracking data from a laboratory and/or on-field setting
  • Supporting research projects focused on player performance and biomechanics
  • Working with data visualization tools; interpreting reports and communicating results to front office, coaching staff, player development, scouting, and medical/performance staff as well as players
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Preference for an academic background in a STEM field (mechanical engineering, biomechanics, physics, mathematics, etc.)
  • Some computer programming experience (Python, command line tools)
  • Familiarity with SQL / database querying
  • Strong communication (written & verbal) skills
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team environment
  • (Arizona-based) Experience working in a biomechanics lab environment preferred and Spanish speaking a plus
  • Must be a rising sophomore, junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree OR are currently enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution
  • Must be available to live and work in Los Angeles or your assigned office location throughout the duration of your 3-month program during the summer months
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
