About The Position

Join the Performance Medicine team for Cirque du Soleil’s premier resident show in Mexico. Reporting to the Head Physiotherapist and the Artistic Director, you will deliver elite-level rehabilitative and emergency care to a world-class cast of artists in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. This position is offered in partnership with Grupo Vidanta. Successful candidates will be employed by Grupo Vidanta, placed on their payroll, and subject to their employment policies. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside passionate, driven professionals and to be part of an internationally renowned entertainment production.

Requirements

  • Legal Status: Must be authorized to work in Mexico.
  • Education: University degree in Physiotherapy/Physical Therapy or Certification in Athletic Therapy/Training.
  • Emergency Skills: Valid CPR certification. Additional Emergency Sports First Responder or EMT certification is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years of clinical experience, specifically working with high-caliber athletes or dancers.
  • Clinical Proficiency: Proven expertise in manual therapy, exercise therapy, and acute emergency response.
  • Communication: Fluency in English and Spanish is essential.
  • Soft Skills: High adaptability to multicultural environments and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse medical and artistic professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Emergency Medical Response: Provide immediate, high-standard emergency care during rehearsals and live performances. You are responsible for maintaining peak emergency preparedness and executing safe, timely responses to all on-stage incidents.
  • Clinical Excellence: Deliver physical evaluations, clinical diagnoses, and rehabilitative therapy tailored to the functional demands of acrobatic performance.
  • Injury Prevention: Collaborate with coaches and the Head Physiotherapist to design and implement targeted prevention programs using varied exercise approaches.
  • Interdisciplinary Communication: Act as a medical liaison for the Artistic Director and Stage Management. Manage medical appointments, insurance/workers’ compensation documentation, and artist functional status reports.
  • Professionalism: Maintain meticulous medico-legal records and uphold strict artist-therapist confidentiality while fostering professional relationships within the artistic team.
  • Operations: Manage the daily needs of the Performance Medicine department, ensuring an organized workspace and maintaining stocks of medical and emergency supplies.
