About The Position

At Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems Business Area, our portfolio features more than 1,000 programs, including helicopters, integrated air and missile defense, littoral warfare, undersea warfare, radar, electronic warfare, cyber solutions, C4ISR, and training and logistics systems. The business area supports the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy and Missile Defense Agency, as well as intelligence, civil, commercial and international military customers. The PMT Coordinator drives the Owego site's business rhythm by leading the implementation and continuous improvement activities of the Performance Management Teams (PMTs) across manufacturing. The PMT Coordinator serves as the catalyst for Owego's operational excellence, ensuring the site operates at peak efficiency while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high employee engagement.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience in leading process improvement initiatives
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead manufacturing teams and projects
  • Effective at interfacing with diverse groups and functions
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and able to balance independent workload with team-oriented goals.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related
  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience or familiarity with data tools (Alteryx, Tableau)

Responsibilities

  • Lead PMT execution - Plan, coordinate, and execute the rollout of PMTs in the manufacturing organization, ensuring alignment with site goals.
  • Partner with leadership - Work closely with Production Operations leaders and PMT leads and managers to meet all PMT objectives, focusing on quality, schedule, cost, 6S, and cost saving initiatives.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement - Identify and eliminate waste, improve process efficiency, and elevate employee skills and engagement through lean manufacturing practices.
  • Develop PMT leaders - Coach PMT leaders on goal setting, team development, and performance achievement strategies.
  • Drive performance metrics - Collaborate with Production Operations to resolve performance issues, ensure full PMT participation, design metrics, maintain scoring systems, and produce regular performance reports.
  • Provide training & communication - Deliver focused communication, training, and direction to teams so that targets are met or exceeded.
  • Lead corrective action initiatives - Support or lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and similar rapid improvement projects.
  • Apply lean tools - Regularly use kaizen, value stream mapping, problem solving, 6S, and other lean techniques to drive results.
