About The Position

The Kaplan House (Manhattan) provides therapeutic and support services to adolescent’s ages 17-21 who are referred to us through ACS and the Juvenile Justice system. Our residents have experienced significant trauma, resulting in behavioral, emotional, and functional/ development issues. Kaplan House offers an extensive independent living skills program, including vocational preparation, and educational services that assists youth towards reaching independence. POSITION OVERVIEW: The CPI Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the quality of care at Kaplan House, in addition, he/she will be the Facilitator for the FTC’s for clients of the program regardless of location.

  • Compassion and respect for vulnerable individuals
  • Patience and understanding for the sometimes-slow process of stabilization and recovery
  • Excellent youth engagement skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • BA minimum: Master’s degree preferred (or working towards).
  • Experience with Residential Care preferably with Adolescents.
  • Driver’s License required to meet all insurance requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook and Word.
  • Connections experience preferred.
  • Aptitude for learning new systems and application software.
  • The candidate should be able to read paper and electronic documents and perform data entry in various completer programs.

  • Ability to respond to crisis
  • Attend off site meetings, as needed

  • Bilingual, Spanish, Creole, French, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assist with implementing on-going CPI activities including a systematic quality improvement plan which identifies program strengths and weakness.
  • Act as Liaison with the Evaluation and Review staff at JBFCS Headquarters as well as other regulatory bodies including Justice Center, OCFS, APA,etc.
  • Continually evaluate organizational needs including periodic review of Program Policies and Procedures
  • Oversee and coordinate program efforts regarding meeting regulatory mandates including evaluation tools such as PAMS and bimonthly Scorecard, and the improvement in such.
  • Oversee and coordinate efforts in preparation of audits and accreditation process; this includes follow-up for any correction action that needs to occur.
  • Help ensure quality of case records.
  • Track and oversee proper documentation of events and incidents.
  • Lead monthly CPI meeting and necessary follow-up
  • Will provide weekly supervision to the CPI Coordinators.
  • Conduct periodic resident satisfaction surveys
  • Track and monitor training attendance
  • Facilitate FTC’s (Family Team Conferences), as needed.
  • Oversee and coordinate collection of materials as related to investigations in the program, this includes reviewing camera footage, incident reports, scheduling interviews etc.
  • Act as a backup for intakes as well as for processing replacements in the placement module.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
  • Lead monthly CPI meeting and necessary follow-up
  • Conduct periodic resident satisfaction surveys
  • Track and monitor training attendance
  • Facilitate FTC’s
  • Oversee and coordinate collection of materials as related to investigations in the program, this includes reviewing camera footage, incident reports, scheduling interviews etc.
  • Act as a backup for intakes as well as for processing replacements in the placement module.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
  • Participates in weekly administrative meetings
  • Participates in regular staff meetings and trainings. May be asked to travel to offsite meetings and trainings
