About The Position

The Surgical PA Service at Northern Dutchess Hospital is seeking to add a board-certified per diem Physician Assistant to join its team. We are a hospital-based group that offers a supportive and team-based environment with exposure to multiple surgical subspecialties. Responsibilities currently include OR first assist coverage as well as perioperative management of patients on the general surgery service. OR First Assisting- Surgical PA Services first assist in the OR for specialties including but not limited to general, plastic, spine, bariatric and OB/GYN cases. Rounding- Surgical PA's round on general surgery patients daily. This is done as a team-based approach with attendings, residents, students. Consults/ Admissions- Surgical PA Services covers admissions and consults for general surgeons Floor Procedures- Surgical PA's are responsible for floor procedures including but not limited to NG tube insertion and removal, wound vac and dressings changes, bedside I&D.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
NCCPA certified
Strong surgical and patient management experience

Nice To Haves

One to three years of surgical experience
Surgical residency trained
New nurse practitioners with RNF certification and surgical experience

Responsibilities
