The role seeks compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurses (PRN) to provide direct medical care and support to clients facing substance use, mental health, or co-occurring disorders. Nursing staff deliver high-quality clinical care by administering medications, monitoring detox protocols, completing required documentation, assisting with lab processes, and educating clients about prescribed medications. Nurses work under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and Charge Nurse, ensuring timely execution of medical orders and clear communication of client needs in a recovery-focused environment.

Requirements

  • Valid RN license in the State of Pennsylvania (based on role).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check, drug screen, and TB test.

Nice To Haves

  • Education or experience in substance use, mental health, or co-occurring disorders.
  • Experience with crisis management and de-escalation.
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
  • Familiarity with COWS and CIWA protocols.
  • Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, compassion, and sensitivity to cultural, religious, and individual differences.

Responsibilities

  • Complete nursing intake assessments, triage, and initiate detox treatment plans under the supervision of the Director of Nursing or Charge Nurse.
  • Conduct daily nurse visits and monitor client health status, documenting changes in condition or behavior.
  • Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments while onsite.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and compliant medical documentation in accordance with HIPAA, facility policies, and state and federal regulations.
  • Initiate and manage required clinical and legal documentation related to client care.
  • Collaborate with providers, RNs, LPNs, and other medical professionals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and families regarding care, concerns, or complaints.
  • Provide emotional and psychological support during care transitions or periods of distress.
  • Respond to medical emergencies, including injuries, overdoses, or cardiac events, following established protocols.
  • Coordinate hospital transfers and nurse-to-nurse communication, including receipt of discharge paperwork upon client return.
  • Monitor and maintain medical supply inventory and place orders as directed.
  • Attend required staff meetings and trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support nursing operations.
