About The Position

The Per Diem Pharmacist will have the opportunity to apply your clinical expertise by evaluating and interpreting medication orders and dispensing prescriptions in accordance with legal and professional standards. You will play a critical role in identifying, preventing, and resolving medication-related issues to ensure safe, effective, and individualized patient care. Through the application of evidence-based protocols, you will promote clinically sound and cost-effective drug therapy, contributing to improved patient outcomes and advancing the standard of pharmaceutical care. Pharmacy Location: Wellstone Regional hospital in Jeffersonville, IN Schedule: Will provide weekend coverage as needed, Saturday and Sunday About the Facility: Wellstone Regional Hospital is a 100 bed psychiatric hospital located in Jeffersonville, Indiana, providing inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services for children, adolescents, and adults. The facility offers comprehensive treatment for a range of psychiatric conditions and chemical dependency, supported by a multidisciplinary team of specialists. Wellstone provides 24/7 no cost assessments and incorporates specialized therapies such as art, music, recreational, and horticultural therapy to support holistic healing. The hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and is recognized for its commitment to quality mental health care.

Requirements

  • ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree
  • Active applicable state pharmacist license in the state of Indiana

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate physician medication orders for clinical appropriateness
  • Gather and interpret key patient information, including allergies, renal/hepatic function, medication history, and other data relevant to safe and effective drug therapy
  • Accurately process and verify physician drug orders in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide medication‑related guidance and clinical recommendations
