Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Per Diem Nursing Professional Development Specialist- Integrative Health. In this role, the successful candidate Assesses and analyzes learning needs for nursing staff throughout the Departments of Nursing; plans, implements and evaluates educational activities that support nursing care; participates in the development, supports implementation, and provides education and reinforcement of nursing and patient care standards, evidence based practice and nursing research; maintains clinical expertise in a specialty area; demonstrates and fosters collaborative relationships within the Departments of Nursing and other disciplines; participates in Departments of Nursing and hospital committees.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Professional Nurse licensure in New York State
  • Master's degree in nursing education
  • Nursing Professional Development Certification
  • Ability to apply nursing process toward achievement of specific outcomes in an organized fashion to address patient/family satisfaction and quality indicators.
  • Evidence of excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, organization, critical thinking, problem solving, and leadership skills.
  • Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
  • Three to five years of clinical experience in a specialty area, or combination of staff nurse/leadership experience in the specialty area.

  • Collaborate with nurse manager to select new hires, mentors, preceptors and ensures that employees are appropriately on-boarded, oriented, educated, and evaluated.

  • Evaluates the performance, and assesses practice, of designated personnel in a fair and transparent manner.

  • Serve as role model and resource for staff.
