Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Inpatient Oncology unit that cares for pediatric patients and adult oncology/transplant overflow. The role delivers professional nursing care while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, ethical, and high-quality outcomes. As a successful candidate, you will:

Requirements

Graduate from nursing school with a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Graduate from a nursing school with a diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing and currently enrolled in a BSN program (must obtain BSN within two years of hire or transfer).
1 to 3 years related experience
Current CA RN License
Basic Life Support (BLS) and PALS through American Heart Association
Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification or Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate (Must be obtained within 6 months or hire)

Responsibilities

Utilize the City of Hope nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, and documentation
Administer and monitor medications, including narcotics
Assist physicians and care teams with exams, procedures, and direct patient care
Triage, assess, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
Provide patient and family education and support
Deliver telephone advice using established protocols and sound nursing judgment
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to adjust care plans as needed
Maintain accurate and complete patient medical records
Promote a safe, therapeutic, and family-centered care environment
Demonstrate professionalism that supports positive working relationships
Participate in ongoing professional development, education, and training
Adhere to City of Hope policies, procedures, safety, infection control, and compliance standards
Practice with integrity, honesty, and strict confidentiality
Perform additional duties as assigned
