About The Position

The EAP Consultant provides employee assistance services to staff, employees, and their household members across Mass General Brigham. These services include consultation and training to the organization, development of program awareness activities, clinical assessment, short-term counseling and referral, project management, establishment of community linkages and a provider network, case monitoring, and follow-up. The EAP Consultant also provides consultation and training to the organization and develops program awareness activities. This position requires a great deal of autonomy, strong interpersonal skills, minimal supervision, and demonstrates a high level of organizational consultation and project management. Consultants are expected to serve as liaisons to one or more entities and to manage multiple EAP projects and committees with a complex set of tasks in a leadership and expert role. They may also participate in writing EAP policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree Social Work required or Master's Degree Counseling required
  • Master's Degree Related Field of Study required
  • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker [LICSW - State License] preferred
  • Licensed Mental Health Counselor [LMHC - State License]
  • Comprehensive EAP experience 2-3 years required
  • Advanced clinical assessment, including alcohol/drug assessment and intervention.
  • Clinical measurement tools (i.e., GAF).
  • Motivational interviewing.
  • Strong public speaking.

  • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker [LICSW - State License] preferred

Responsibilities

  • Offers confidential behavioral health assessments, short-term counseling, crisis intervention, referrals, and follow-up support to employees and their household members.
  • Adheres to standard procedures ensuring confidentiality, ethical conduct, and timely documentation for program evaluation.
  • Acts as a liaison between clients and supervisors with permission, and consults with managers and HR on employee or workgroup issues.
  • Works closely with Occupational Health, Employee Relations, and HR to address employee concerns and coordinate care.
  • Maintains and updates a network of internal and external referral resources to ensure high-quality support for clients.
  • Delivers orientations, well-being trainings, and workshops to promote EAP services and workplace mental health.
  • Participates in EAP organizations and ongoing training to stay current with best practices and regulations.
  • Develop EAP training and work independently, recognizing when to seek consultation, and inform EAP management of complex clinical and administrative issues.
