Position Highlights: Position: EHMG Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Critical Care Location: 801 S. Washington St Naperville IL 60540 Per Diem on-call coverage, evenings and weekends only This posting is intended to fill multiple Per Diem Intensivist positions. Salary range: $75/hour About Our PICU Program Unit Specifications Bed Capacity: 16-bed combined Pediatric floor/critical care unit Patient Population: Medical and general surgical pediatric patients (no post-operative cardiac surgery) No Teaching Requirements: Pure clinical and administrative focus Advanced Capabilities & Services Advanced mechanical ventilation strategies Comprehensive procedural services (intubation, central lines, chest tubes, etc.) Pediatric sedation services Critical care consultation to pediatric emergency department Close collaboration with on-site pediatric subspecialists Note: We do not currently offer ECMO or CRRT services. Comprehensive Pediatric Subspecialty Support Edward Hospital offers exceptional on-site pediatric subspecialty coverage, including: Pediatric Surgery Pediatric Gastroenterology Pediatric Infectious Disease Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery Neonatology (in-house 24/7) Pediatric Hospitalists (24/7 PICU-experienced coverage) Additional pediatric subspecialists available Integrated Pediatric Services Pediatric Emergency Department located down the hall, staffed by pediatric EM-trained physicians 24/7 Pediatric Hospitalist coverage with PICU experience In-house Neonatology team State-of-the-art Simulation Lab with comprehensive pediatric content and scenarios Member of the Chicagoland Children's Health Alliance Staffing Model & Schedule Program Transition & Growth Opportunity We are transitioning from a contracted physician group to an Endeavor-employed model, with an employed Medical Director staffing the unit M-F daylight. We are looking to round out this staffing model with a team of dedicated pediatric intensivists to provide on-call service nights and weekends. Schedule Structure Clinical Schedule: To be determined collaboratively with the Medical Director and incoming team On-Call Structure: Night and weekend call from home Flexibility: Input into scheduling model and work-life balance priorities Current Support Pediatric Hospitalists: 24/7 in-house coverage with PICU experience Neonatology: In-house 24/7 No APP Coverage: Direct physician-led care model Experience Preferred: Post-fellowship experience in pediatric critical care, also open to recent graduates of a qualified pediatric critical care fellowship program Preferred: Experience in community PICU settings Skills & Competencies Clinical Excellence: Strong clinical skills in pediatric critical care medicine Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with families, staff, and colleagues Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment Adaptability: Flexibility and resilience in a growing, evolving program Commitment: Dedication to evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement Culture Builder: Ability to foster a positive, family-centered care environment Qualifications: Minimum Education Level Required: Completion of ACGME-accredited Pediatric Residency Required: Completion of ACGME-accredited Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship Minimum Licensure Requirements Eligible for medical licensing in the State of Illinois. Minimum Certification Requirements Required: BLS (Basic Life Support) Required: PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Required: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Board certification/Board eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care.   • Completion of ACGME-accredited Pediatric Residency
  • Completion of ACGME-accredited Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship
  • Eligible for medical licensing in the State of Illinois.
