About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated HR Intern – People Systems & Process Documentation to support our Human Resources team with a strong focus on HR systems, data integrity, and building clear, scalable processes. This role is ideal for a student with a foundational understanding of HR who is interested in how people systems, documentation, and well-defined procedures drive organizational efficiency. The HR Intern will play a key role in cleaning and standardizing data within our Human Resource Information System (HRIS), while also documenting HR workflows and helping design and improve processes and procedures across the employee lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related field
  • Foundational understanding of HR concepts and the employee lifecycle
  • Strong written communication skills with an interest in documentation
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable learning and working in multiple software systems

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in process design, operations, or systems thinking
  • Experience with SaaS platforms or enterprise systems
  • Basic Excel / Google Sheets skills for data cleanup and analysis
  • Experience creating documentation, SOPs, or training materials
  • Exposure to system testing or user acceptance testing (UAT)

Responsibilities

  • Support ongoing maintenance and optimization of the HRIS system, including:
  • Cleaning and standardizing job descriptions, positions, and job assignments
  • Auditing HR data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Assisting with data validation and quality checks
  • Help test HR system enhancements and upgrades
  • Document system configurations and workflows
  • Document end-to-end HR processes (e.g., onboarding, offboarding, job changes, system updates)
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process maps
  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement
  • Partner with HR team members to design more efficient and scalable workflows
  • Create short training materials, job aids, and user guides for employees and managers
  • Help build a centralized knowledge base for HR systems and processes
  • Translate complex system workflows into clear, easy-to-follow documentation
  • Support basic HR reporting and dashboards
  • Analyze process data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities
  • Provide recommendations for increasing system adoption and operational efficiency
  • Assist with HR technology implementations and optimization initiatives
  • Support special projects related to HR operations and organizational effectiveness
