About The Position

Civil Design, Inc. (CDI) is a multi-disciplined civil engineering firm offering civil site, structural, land surveying, and GIS services. Since its founding in 1996, our team has grown to over 150 team members with six locations. We operate in three states serving our six service lines - Infrastructure + Analytics, Site, Structures, Survey, Transportation, and Water Resources. We have office locations in Missouri – St. Louis and Jefferson City, Illinois – Collinsville and Effingham and Kentucky – Louisville and Prestonsburg. We are looking for a People Success Intern to contribute to human resources tasks/responsibilities that support our CDI mission in Building Stronger Communities. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with HRIS systems is a plus.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to take initiative.
  • Must be able to provide 30-32 hours per week.
  • This internship is based out of St. Louis, Missouri. Travel is expected to be less than 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the full-cycle recruiting process, including posting jobs, reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
  • Support onboarding activities such as preparing new hire paperwork, coordinating orientation sessions, and updating records.
  • Help maintain records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Participate in team member engagement initiatives and assist and this could include planning events.
  • Assist with compliance tasks, including updating policies, potentially tracking required training, and supporting reporting needs.
  • Conduct research on human resources best practices, trends, and relevant labor laws.
  • Support day-to-day HR administrative tasks and special projects as assigned.
