The People Team plays a critical role in ensuring our colleagues have the support, tools, and environment to do their best work. From strategic partnership with the business to operational excellence, we design and deliver the programs that power AvePoint’s talent engine. This HR Specialist role is designed as an intentional entry point into HRBP work with structured exposure to the functional areas of Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Total Rewards, and People Operations. This role will allow for building the capabilities required to grow into roles of greater scope and responsibility or within one of the functional areas within the People Team. This position provides broad HR exposure with HR Business Partnering as the core focus. You will learn HR by doing: supporting employee lifecycle work, building manager‑ready materials, owning process steps, and contributing to cross-functional People Team projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in HR, People Operations, Talent, or a related coordination or support role (including internships or co‑ops)
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), problem solving, and follow‑through.
  • A growth mindset: curious, coachable, proactive.
  • Analytical comfort: Excel basics, ability to interpret data, attention to detail.
  • Sound judgment and discretion with sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated reliability and accountability.
  • Examples of improving a process, writing documentation, or supporting stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the HRBP team's operations and initiatives, including supporting ongoing People processes (onboarding, performance review, compensation review, headcount planning, development, etc.), as well as administration, reporting, and documentation standards and preparation.
  • Be the owner of employee experience from day one and beyond – including maintaining a strong pulse on employee engagement and career development.
  • Partner with hiring managers to help craft effective new hire onboarding plans
  • Lead internal mobility initiatives that foster a strong sense of growth and development.
  • Manage the Summer intern program including working with leaders to identify impactful internship projects, to organizing a meaningful program from onboarding through the duration of the summer.
  • In partnership with People Operations, provide HR policy guidance and interpretation, with a critical eye toward developing new policies, clarifying existing ones, and sunsetting outdated ones as needed
  • Serve as a connective tissue between HRBPs and Centers of Excellence to orchestrate seamless workflow handoffs and resolve cross-functional bottlenecks
  • Synthesize complex workforce data into manager-ready deliverables such as PowerPoint decks and executive summaries that facilitate immediate leadership decision-making
  • Author high-impact internal communications and instructional guides that translate People Team programs into clear and actionable steps for people managers and AvePoint team members
  • Drive project momentum by capturing meeting insights and aggressively tracking action items to ensure timely closure of HRBP-led initiatives
  • Act as a steward for MyHR data quality by conducting proactive audits and reconciling anomalies to maintain a reliable source of truth for the organization
  • Perform proactive analysis of People metrics such as turnover trends and engagement scores to flag emerging themes for HRBP intervention
  • Identify and implement process improvements within the HRBP function to automate manual tasks and reduce administrative friction across the business
  • Support end‑to‑end people programs across the employee lifecycle, including early‑career and campus recruiting, internships, onboarding, and ongoing employee experience initiatives.
  • Contribute to the delivery and operations of core people programs such as learning and development, compensation and benefits, and internal communications, helping ensure programs run smoothly and consistently.
  • Enable People Team effectiveness by maintaining documentation, workflows, and knowledge resources, and by supporting operational reporting, coordination, and continuous process improvement.
