This position partners closely with site leadership to drive talent strategy, associate engagement, and compliance while supporting a fast-paced, 24/7 operation. About the Transportation People Team – Tobyhanna The Transportation People Team at Tobyhanna partners directly with operations to ensure the workforce is engaged, developed, and positioned to deliver safely and efficiently. Acting as trusted advisors, the team balances associate advocacy with business priorities. This role supports facility goals by strengthening leadership capability, improving the associate experience, and ensuring consistent execution of people processes.

Requirements

  • Experience managing HR processes such as staffing, employee relations, payroll, benefits, and compliance
  • Proven ability to support leaders in an operational or logistics environment
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR information systems
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, or developing associates or leaders
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field and 2 years HR Generalist experience (e.g., payroll, workers compensation, benefits) with at least one year supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing employees; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees OR 1 year experience as a Walmart Logistics Human Resources Area Manager or Walmart Human Resources Office Manager supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing associates; managing associate workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of associates, including dealing with employment compensation/payroll processing, employee relations, recruiting/staffing, organizational planning, and/or training and development programs OR 3 years experience supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing employees, managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees including one year of experience managing human resource processes (e.g., staffing, payroll, workers compensation, benefits)

Nice To Haves

  • Both Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Financial Management, Production/Operations Management, Human Resources); and 3 years experience supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing employees, managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees.
  • Developing and facilitating training programs experience
  • Human resources or training professional certifications (e.g., PHR/SPHR, ASTD).
  • Managing human resource processes (e.g., staffing, payroll, workers compensation, benefits)

Responsibilities

  • Support transportation leaders by executing workforce and associate engagement strategies
  • Oversee site-level HR operations, including hiring, associate relations, payroll, benefits, and compliance
  • Coach leaders on performance management, development planning, and employment matters
  • Analyze people data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure adherence to company HR policies and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations
