The People Operations Specialist is a hands-on, operational role responsible for executing and improving core people processes across recruiting coordination, onboarding, employee lifecycle management, systems administration, orientation, internal communications, and employee programs. This role is designed for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives in an execution-focused environment and enjoys building structure, improving workflows, and creating a seamless employee experience. Reporting into HR leadership, the People Operations Specialist partners closely with HR, Finance, Payroll, IT, and business leaders to ensure people operations run smoothly, compliantly, and efficiently across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in People Operations, HR Operations, or a similar role.
  • Hands-on experience managing onboarding, employee lifecycle processes, and HR systems.
  • Familiarity with ATS and HRIS platforms such as Greenhouse and ADP (or comparable systems).
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally and operating with a high degree of ownership and autonomy.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end onboarding processes, including offer letters, reference checks, background screening, system access, equipment coordination, and orientation scheduling.
  • Support recruiting operations by preparing requisitions in Greenhouse, managing approval workflows, and coordinating closely with HR leadership.
  • Prepare and distribute employment documentation related to promotions, compensation changes, role updates, and employment terms, including coordination with the Compensation Committee as needed.
  • Administer and support HR systems and tools, including ATS, HRIS, background screening platforms, reporting, and related employee systems.
  • Coordinate and support employee orientation sessions, including scheduling, agenda creation, logistics, and system walkthroughs.
  • Plan and execute employee engagement initiatives and internal events, including holiday events, volunteer programs, and culture-building activities.
  • Support internal communications such as bi-weekly newsletters, employee announcements, onboarding communications, and internal postings.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with internal processes and employment regulations.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Payroll, IT, and HR leadership to support people operations initiatives and continuous process improvement.
