People Operations Lead

AnthropicSan Francisco, WA
$220,000 - $290,000Hybrid

About The Position

Anthropic is looking for a People Operations Lead to join our People Services team. We're a small team that keeps onboarding, offboarding, employee support, and the rest of the employee lifecycle running as the company grows. We're at the stage where the processes that got us here need to become the systems that take us further, and we're hiring a senior individual contributor to help drive this work. In this role, you will contribute to our vision, analyze our current state, and then get hands-on to build our future state. You’ll build some of these new processes and workflows yourself, and others will be built in partnership with more technical teams (e.g. People Systems). Our work doesn’t exist in a silo, so you’ll work closely with other People teams and cross-functional partners like IT, Legal, Finance, and Security to improve workflows end-to-end. We have a solid foundation with a lot left to build, and you'll help shape what comes next.

Requirements

  • Have 6–10+ years in People/HR Operations and have scaled People Ops functions in-house
  • Have hands-on experience converting manual processes into scalable systems
  • Learn systems quickly and enjoy figuring out how things work under the hood
  • Communicate clearly with business and technical teams, flexing your communication style for your audience
  • Form strong cross-functional partnerships to collaborate on processes with upstream/downstream impacts
  • Move quickly without sacrificing quality or introducing risk
  • Have managed processes and data in enterprise HR systems (e.g. Workday) — configuration experience isn't necessary
  • Have managed employee support through ticketing systems (e.g. Jira)
  • We require at least a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using light code (e.g. Google Apps Script) to optimize People Ops processes
  • Experience using AI to build new People Ops workflows
  • Experience with internal controls and enterprise audits (e.g. SOC 2, SOX, ISO)

Responsibilities

  • Process Improvement & Transformation
  • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline and connect processes within and beyond our team
  • Map processes end to end to see how things currently run, find where they break or slow down, and propose solutions
  • Design and build improved processes yourself, or document the requirements and partner with technical teams to build them
  • Improve cross-functional processes by partnering with other People teams and teams across the org (IT, Security, Legal, Finance)
  • Manage our employee support experience, focusing on improving our tooling and analyzing data to drive continuous improvement
  • Collect feedback from employees and partner teams to make sure we are focusing on areas that drive the most impact
  • Data Integrity & Governance
  • Build and manage automated processes to audit and maintain the quality of our workforce data
  • Support internal and external audits with process documentation and evidence
  • Document runbooks and SOPs for our processes and systems

Benefits

  • competitive compensation and benefits
  • optional equity donation matching
  • generous vacation and parental leave
  • flexible working hours
  • a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues
