About The Position

Pacific Coast Producers (PCP), a growing agricultural cooperative with food production facilities across the West Coast, is seeking a talented and innovative People Operations (HR) Supervisor to join its team at its Lodi, CA operations.  While this position is headquartered at our Lodi production facility, you will also provide essential support to our Lodi distribution center. This dual-site role offers the opportunity to drive between both local facilities, ensuring a consistent HR presence for our entire Lodi team. Reporting to the People Operations Manager, you will play a key role in leading the HR functions for both our Lodi Production Facility and Distribution Center. This role requires a strong grasp of labor regulations and the ability to navigate complex HR functions with ease. More importantly, we are looking for a supervisor who is passionate about leading a team and fostering an environment where both our HR staff and our floor employees feel supported.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; five (5) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • At least 3+ years of experience as an HR Generalist.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed during our pack season (June through September).
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to drive between our Lodi production and distribution sites.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data analysis) to support payroll, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Experience with HCM and/or timekeeping systems and the ability to learn new software quickly.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certification such as SHRM or HRCI (preferred).
  • Experience in a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) environment (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Support all the people operations (HR) functions, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, employee relations, and compensation and benefits. This includes assisting with conducting interviews, selecting candidates, and making hiring decisions.
  • In the absence of the People Operations Manager, serve as the acting supervisor for the HR team, overseeing daily operations and decision-making.
  • Serve as point of contact for employee queries, concerns, complaints, ensuring prompt and equitable resolutions. This includes conducting thorough investigations into complex employee issues, recommending and implementing appropriate courses of action.
  • Effectively interpret and implement the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) to resolve labor disputes and maintain a harmonious work environment. This includes assisting in fulfilling data requests to support the analysis and planning for collective bargaining or regulatory reporting.
  • Oversee leaves of absence, (e.g., FMLA/CFRA/PDL) and attendance tracking for employees and managers.
  • Support payroll process by providing assistance in payroll related matters which includes interacting with the corporate payroll group to ensure payroll is complete, with minimal errors.
  • Assist with the daily scheduling process which includes ensuring headcount is met for all departments.
  • Administer reasonable accommodations for employees as required under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and provide guidance and support throughout the accommodation process.
  • Manage the termination process for employees, including conducting exit interviews and providing feedback to management so that improvements can be made.
  • Coordinate events and activities aimed at improving workplace engagement and culture, such as employee appreciation events, wellness initiatives, retirement parties, and other events.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and always maintain a high level of professionalism, setting a high standard for all employees.
