About The Position

Are you a "data first" thinker who loves transforming raw information into clear, actionable stories? Do you enjoy the challenge of auditing complex datasets to find the "single source of truth"? As an People Data Intern at arrivia , you will be a key player in optimizing how we track and analyze our global workforce. We aren't looking for someone to just maintain the status quo. We need a builder who can use Power BI and Excel to bridge system gaps, eliminate drag, and help us design a more automated future for our people data. This is a high-impact, hands-on role at our North Scottsdale headquarters where your work will directly influence executive-level decision-making in a fast-paced travel-tech environment.

Requirements

  • Current Student: Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
  • Technical Toolkit: You have a "Power User" command of Excel (Pivots, XLOOKUP, Data Cleaning) and have built or managed reports in Power BI .
  • Analytical Detective: You have a natural curiosity for finding root causes and a "pixel-perfect" eye for data accuracy.
  • Builder Mindset: You are proactive and comfortable working independently to find a better, faster way to organize information.
  • Strong Communicator: You can explain the "story" behind the numbers to teammates who may not be as technical as you are.

Responsibilities

  • System Auditing & Cleanup: Partner with our HR team to audit current data flows, identifying discrepancies and ensuring our "people architecture" is accurate and reliable.
  • BI Dashboard Creation: Design and deploy automated reports in Power BI that visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) like headcount trends, retention, and operational efficiency.
  • Advanced Excel Modeling: Use Power Query and advanced formulas to manipulate high-volume datasets, turning fragmented spreadsheets into streamlined reporting tools.
  • Workflow Automation: Identify repetitive manual tasks within our HR ecosystem and propose technical solutions to automate them, driving speed and accuracy across the team.
  • Strategic Support: Assist with the technical "groundwork" for upcoming system transitions, ensuring our data is clean, mapped correctly, and ready for the next generation of HR technology.
