People & Culture Department The People & Culture (PC) team is responsible for managing the entire employee lifecycle from recruitment through retirement, collaborating closely with various departments such as New Site Development, Construction, Operations, Sales, Finance, Tech & Systems, and Legal to ensure a cohesive and supportive work environment. Our PC team is distinguished by its proactive and strategic approach. Unlike in many organizations where HR functions are limited to administrative oversight, our team members are empowered with the authority and responsibility to drive critical processes directly. This includes talent acquisition, employee development, performance management, and organizational planning. By leveraging in-house expertise, our PC team can align long-term organizational sustainability with innovative HR practices and cost-effective strategies. This alignment ensures that our workforce is engaged, motivated, and equipped to contribute to the company's success. Each member of our PC team plays a pivotal role in making high-impact decisions, resulting in a more dynamic and productive work environment. Position Overview This role will be based in Denver, Colorado. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented People & Culture Intern to join our People & Culture team. This internship provides a valuable opportunity for a student or recent graduate to gain practical experience in various human resources functions, including employee engagement, payroll & benefits, workforce planning and HR operations. The People & Culture Intern will work closely with our PC team, assisting with day-to-day activities and contributing to a wide range of projects. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to learn about HR processes and is excited to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a 4-year university pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Rising Senior in an undergraduate program preferred
  • Minimum GPA requirement: 3.0
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Strong work ethic and proactive approach to tasks.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work on multiple tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with employees at all levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship or work experience in HR is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update employee records in the HR database, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Assist with processing HR forms, such as employee status changes, leaves of absence, and other personnel actions.
  • Help with data entry and reporting for various HR metrics, such as employee turnover and engagement.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of employee engagement activities, events, and initiatives.
  • Assist with collecting employee feedback through surveys and focus groups to support ongoing engagement efforts.
  • Help coordinate recognition programs and assist with other initiatives aimed at fostering a positive work environment.
  • Analyze hiring data to compare against original projections and identify deviations
  • Research and compile data about what other data center companies are doing to find, attract and train new talent in the data center industry
  • Advise on and help shape workforce development programs by offering real world experience relative to what you are seeing other employers do on campus
  • Document lessons learned and strategies to hire data center operators at scale
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to HR processes and direct them to appropriate resources when necessary.
  • Provide general administrative support to the P&C team, such as filing, organizing, and assisting with various HR projects.
  • Attend P&C team meetings and participate in discussions around HR strategy, programs, and initiatives.
  • Handle additional duties as assigned
