Suffolk’s Summer Internship Program is designed to attract the best and brightest talent from universities across the country—students who think creatively, thrive in fast-paced environments, and are eager to solve real business challenges. This 9-week summer program offers hands-on, project-based experience and meaningful exposure to Suffolk’s business, people, and culture. As a People & Culture (P&C) Intern , you will gain practical experience across multiple Human Resource disciplines while supporting initiatives that drive Suffolk’s continued growth. This role is ideal for someone who is curious, proactive, and passionate about people, culture, and organizational impact. Interns will collaborate closely with experienced HR professionals and gain insight into how strategic people solutions support a high-performing construction organization. Exposure & Development Opportunities The P&C Intern will have the opportunity to work on projects and initiatives across the following teams within the People & Culture department: HR Business Partners (HRBPs) HRIS / People Operations Total Rewards & Compensation Talent Acquisition Learning & Development Talent Strategy & Experience Strategy This exposure allows interns to explore multiple career paths within Human Resources while developing a well-rounded understanding of the employee lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, with rising juniors and rising seniors preferred for this opportunity.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
  • Analytical, curious, and able to think critically to solve problems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support 2 People & Culture functions through project work, research, reporting, and administrative support.
  • Partner with P&C team members to advance ongoing initiatives related to talent, learning, operations, engagement, and analytics.
  • Assist with data analysis, documentation, and process improvement efforts across HR programs.
  • Participate in Suffolk’s internship programming, including online learning courses, networking events, and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute ideas that enhance the employee and candidate experience.
