About The Position

The goal of the internship program at Glenstone is to cultivate the next generation of the workforce by exposing interns to various professional pathways in the museum world. In collaboration with their department, interns can expect to gain professional experience by supporting specific departmental initiatives and projects. Interns are encouraged to connect with fellow team members throughout the organization to gain knowledge and build lasting relationships. This cross-functional internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both Finance and Human Resources within Glenstone’s collaborative operating environment. The intern will be exposed to the day-to-day work of each department, building a foundational understanding of financial operations, people processes, and how the two functions intersect to support organizational effectiveness. Through structured orientation, shadowing, and project-based assignments, the intern will develop practical skills in data analysis, process improvement, communication, and administrative operations. On the Finance side, the intern will support expense analysis, reconciliations, and reporting, gaining insight into month-end close activities, budgeting, and financial systems. Projects may include analyzing departmental spending, contributing to dashboard development, and mapping workflows to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements. Within Human Resources, the intern may assist with recruitment and onboarding activities, file management aligned with paperless practices, and internal communications such as orientation materials and employee recognition content. This internship is designed for a detail-oriented, curious learner who is interested in understanding how financial stewardship and people operations work together to support Glenstone’s mission.
