Requirements

• Lived experience with mental health or substance use recovery, preferred.
• Previous experience in billing submission and familiarity with healthcare billing processes .
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledge of healthcare systems, insurance, and billing procedures.
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to support and care.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in peer support is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support to patients, fostering a trusting and empathetic environment to promote recovery and wellness.
• Assist patients in navigating healthcare services, including mental health, substance use, and primary care.
• Support patients in understanding and managing their treatment plans.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to coordinate care and ensure patient needs are met.
• Manage billing submissions related to peer support services, ensuring accuracy and compliance with billing policies.
• Document patient interactions and support activities in accordance with organizational standards.
• Participate in team meetings and ongoing training to stay current on best practices and billing procedures.
