About The Position

The Peer Support Activity Coordinator, reporting to the Peer Center Manager, plays a key role in enhancing sober activities at the Peer Center to further support and improve clients' quality of life. The coordinator facilitates access to essential services and programs that promote physical, social, and mental well-being.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Active Ohio Peer Support (PRS) certification
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience is essential, providing a strong understanding of the human service system and experience working with individuals with substance use disorder (SUD) and/or Mental Health (MH) symptoms.
  • Must have valid driver’s license, adequate insurance, personal transportation
  • Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement supportive service programs in collaboration with clients, co-workers, management, and local community service providers, including organizing regular events and activities at the Peer Center and within the community.
  • Conduct ongoing outreach to identify individuals who would benefit from services, recruit volunteers, and assess program and service gaps.
  • Serve as a liaison to local providers, representing Lighthouse Behavioral Health in various community groups and tasks.
  • Coordinate service delivery with local providers to ensure seamless support for clients.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of services provided to residents.
  • Respond to crisis intervention requests, escalating to the Site Director for clinical support and intervention when needed.
  • Support client-led community-building initiatives, ensuring they align with clinical guidelines.
  • Identify funding opportunities for new and expanded programs within the development.
  • Collaborate with staff across departments to ensure understanding and engagement with client services' goals and programs.
  • Develop, review, and distribute the monthly program/activity calendar, ensuring timely and clear communication.
  • Attend required meetings and actively participate in additional or special projects as needed.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through training, networking programs, webinars, and workshops to enhance service delivery to the community.
