Seeking a Peer Recovery Support Specialist to provide recovery support services to individuals who are participants in the Piedmont Adult Recovery Court in Patrick County VA. The Peer Support Specialist will provide outreach, support, and advocacy to assist individuals to access recovery supports, behavioral health treatment services, and other community resources to improve the individual's quality of life. The position is part of the Clinical Services Division of PCS and a vital link in the continuum of care to individuals with substance use disorders. 1yr+ related work experience or sufficient combination of related education, experience, and demonstrated knowledge of behavioral health principles, recovery / support programs, local community services and resource availability necessary to perform the job is required. Peer certification is preferred; basic computer skills, a valid driver's license and safe driving history are required. Salary is commensurate with education and experience as it relates to the position. Must be willing to consent to background checks, including checks for barrier crimes, and drug screening as part of the application process.
