Peer Recovery Support Specialist – St. Rita's Medical Center Job Summary: The Peer Recovery Specialist provides direct patient care under the supervision of a designated healthcare professional in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, and within policies, procedures, and guidelines of Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH). This document is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, duties, requirements, or working conditions associated with the job. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED (required)
  • Certified Peer Specialist per state guidelines (required)
  • 1 year in healthcare, social services or human services setting (required)

Nice To Haves

  • National Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates individual and/or support groups (within scope) and may participate in family meetings and treatment team meetings.
  • Provides post-discharge follow-up, along with community resource knowledge and navigation.
  • Delivers overdose prevention and education on Naloxone utilization .
  • Participates in continued education and in-service training.
